Another Pic (If You Can Stand It)

I just took this pic. Coin is in an NGC slab. It is just as the camera saw it; no enhancements. It looks like my coin, but the devices are a bit darker than the actual coin, particularly on the obverse. I think this is the best I can do (without photoshop, which is on the way). What do you think? Thanks, - Preussen

Thanks. It's a Proof image. Older NGC Slab (65) before cameo designations were given, but today it would go "Ultra Cameo." - Preussen

I just lightened it up a bit with a simple program called "PixWizard." Looks better to me. - Preussen

    Preussen,
I took this as a question regarding the photo quality.
The photo looks a little soft to me ...maybe not fully focused . It may just be the matt proof finish on the devices that make it look that way.

Regarding the coin...it is very nice !!!

    Preussen,
I thought the 1901 2 Mark photos in your last post looked a little crisper. Might be lighting but were they both taken with the same Pixel settings?

Thanks for the comments. Both were taken at 5.0MP, but I did play with the lighting on this one, trying to bring out better cameo contrast. - Preussen

Often the degree of light reflection off the devices and legends can play havoc on the "crispness" of the focus.

The other killer is the actual depth of relief of the devices.

BTW, very nice contrast, and coin. image

Nicely taken picture. I have a horrible time with proofs.

I am almost tempted to say that we are not worthy...

Terrific coin... great picture and yes the coin is undergraded.

Wow... very, very impressive. And NGC is involved... interesting.
