  • What is interesting is the number of hits it is getting. Check it out. About 100 hits every 15 minutes. It was 900 at 10:15 eastern

I don't know anything about the value of a cut like that...

But, I'm willing to bet that it's not worth any where near the $ it will go for - so reselling the card down the road may come at a loss?

This is a card company "manufactured" piece of memorabilia and not a piece of history - I just wonder what someone cut up to get this sig?

The letter may have been to one of his hooker friends over in France?

<< <i>Benjamin Franklin was not only one of America's Founding Fathers — he was also a fascinating character who lived an exciting life. Whether carousing with prostitutes in Paris, taunting lightning bolts with kites, or founding America's first volunteer fire fighting organization, Franklin was always at the center of activity. >>

    I want my letter back!

That would be way better than the card!

His signed docs usualy go for around $10,000-$15,000 depending on the document.. it will be scary to see what this goes for in the end.

  • Whats with the big swoops below his name?

Is that his jersey # ?

Seriously...I agree with Mike. What the hell did they cut up for this?

It's as bad as The Sawchuk glove pieces or the Ruth bat pieces!

    Sandman

    Thanx for the reference...

That's what I was talking about - you can pick up the "cut" auto for 1500$?

Give it to Knuckles - he gets a pic of Franklin with his French Hooker, get it PSA/DNA'ed and presto!

You got a card that will sell for 5 grand on ebay...

    I'm there dude!

After seeing that HBO special on how good these forgers are, you gotta be nuts paying a high price for something like that when the odds are very good, if not virtually 100% it's a forgery. "Frankly" it looks phony to me - sort of looks too new.
  • I've never, ever, purchase an autograph. And I never will. I'm a sports writer for a major paper. One of my fellow writers, when she was in college, worked for the Boston Red Sox and her job was signing Carl Yastremski autographs. It's done all the time. If you took all the autographs out there and tried to figure out how much time it took to write them all out, these players wouldn't have time to play baseball.

Pharber, I hear ya. The only autos I own are the ones I got signed in person. Except for one Don Minner auto I pulled from Heritage last year. I won't EVER purchase a autograph either.
