I stop by once in a while.......but not frequent enough. I am not opposed to owning darkside coins......it just seems like I am always surfing the US section on Ebay
I bought one just like it (but not in a slab) a couple years ago. When I showed my brother (a stamp guy), he said, "That looks disgusting. I'll clean that up for you if you like.".
I don't show him too many of my coins anymore.

Very nice. I've developed a taste for the Canada $1 coins. Here is one that has position-dependent color. I used natural light to illuminate the coin. The first set of shots was taken dead on. The second set (same coin) was taken moments later with the camera positioned 10- 20 degrees off top-dead-center. This toning facinates me - very different from the way a Morgan tones - metal composition (only 60% silver, I think)?

I love Canadian money (all demonimations, including tokens)! I have a complete collection of Can. silver dollars, but none toned as nicely as some of you members here own. I enjoyed viewing all of your examples.
Great examples folks.....toned Canadian dollars are extremely reasonabel in price compared to US issues. It's not a bad idea to add a few to your holdings if you want color without breaking the bank!!!
Thought I'd continue KC's post from last February. This I bought off of the local shop's bidboard for $12 this past week. The '71 - '73 Canada proof (specimen) dollars can certainly develop some gorgeous toning. Post 'em if you've got 'em.

I lost out on a real pretty SP66 with great toning a few days ago.......I could have sniped it but choose to place my max bid and walk away....you win some....you lose some
Nice one. I'm in agreement with those that find the toned Canadian dollars more affordable compared to their south of the border cousins. Here's one of mine in PCGS MS65. It's much more lustous than the images convey.
