Uh huh, That's What I'm Talking About!

I've been looking for one of these. Now I'm looking for a better one:

The Waves extend all the way to the bottom of the Memorial!

Very nice. I don't no a whole lot about this, is there a demand for wavy steps in circulated condition?

I really have to start checking my Lincolns more closely!
WTB: Eric Plunk cards, jersey (signed or unsigned), and autographs. Basically anything related to him

Positive BST: WhiteThunder (x2), Ajaan, onefasttalon, mirabela, Wizard1, cucamongacoin, mccardguy1

    Negative BST: NONE!
  • This is the same type of coin that is pictured in my sig line. I have photos now of the only two of these known to be in existence and I'm fortunate enough to own one of them. It's not in the best condition, but hey, it's the Holy Grail of wavy steps to me. There's only just a couple varieties of cents that are as wavy as this one. It reaches all the way to the bottom - the base of the Memorial. I think you can count on one hand all those known wavy step cents that show distorted bases. Becoka, I hope that answers your question. There's not a large number of wavy step collectors, but those who do collect them know a good one when they see it and JRocco knows it too. image Thanks. The more wavy the cent the more it's worth to those who collect them. You got Monsters, Major and Minor ones. I consider the 2005P-1DR-001 that I found last year to be one of the better ones, a major wavy but not a monster. I found one wavy step last month that was the first DD 2006 coin found this year and I consider it to be a minor wavy.
People don't really look for them specifically. They're not very noticeable unless you're looking at a monster - I saw mine for the first time without the aid of a magnifier and could tell immediately what it was. But as they become more readily available and more cool varieties of them become known then I expect more people will collect them. Robert BJ Neff has about the best listing of different types of wavy steps of anyone that I know of, with lots of photographs. If anyone reading this would like to have a copy of his files I would be happy to put you in contact with him about that. Just PM me.
