paypl changes-have you received this?

Due to upcoming year 2006, and recent changes in PayPal's Service Agreement you need to submit additional details on your PayPal account. Starting from 2006 all PayPal accounts will come with complete detailed information! Identity protection matters. And PayPal works day and night to help keep your identity safe.
I received this in my e-mail-is it genuine?

If it has a link, it's a scam.

Unless Paypal has been hiring ape-men in the jungles of the Congo, you can tell by the wording that it is a scam. The writer has a loose grasp on the language of the English speaking world (I am making a rare effort to be kind).

    Scamorama!

What was the salutation in the email?

    "Dear PayPal Member,"

    "Dear Valued Customer,"

    "Dear PayPal Accountholder,"

or some other generic greeting? Or did it say "Dear <firstname> <lastname>"?

If it didn't have your full name in it, 100% it did not come from PayPal.

Having the real name does not guarantee authenticity.

I have received a couple of scam emails from "Paypal" with my real name on them.

No, but NOT having the real name assures that it IS a scam.

Having the real name just means you have to look further. Without the name just means you autodelete.
