French Art Nouveau Award Medals for the General Union for Electric Construction

ENGRAVER : Charles Philippe Germain Aristide Pillet (1869-1960) – born in Paris, Pillet rose to fame at an early age, when, in 1890, being only 21 years old, he won the Grand Prize of Rome. His detailed, life-like allegories have often been credited to the training he received under both Chaplain and Chapu. Pillet won a Silver Medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle and was appointed a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1911.




Bronze 68mm 164 gms by Ray Pelletier (born in France, 1907-1958) entered the Ecole Boulle in 1920. He worked in the industrie, his medals were mainly issued by a private mints

Beautiful...I don't think I have ever seen an Art Nouveau medal that I didn't like - those were real design.
