French Art Nouveau Award Medals for the General Union for Electric Construction

ENGRAVER : Charles Philippe Germain Aristide Pillet (1869-1960) – born in Paris, Pillet rose to fame at an early age, when, in 1890, being only 21 years old, he won the Grand Prize of Rome. His detailed, life-like allegories have often been credited to the training he received under both Chaplain and Chapu. Pillet won a Silver Medal at the 1900 Exposition Universelle and was appointed a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1911.
