My first bodybag of the year...

I have seen many half cents in PCGS holders that did not have near the color this one does... This also was cracked from an NGC MS62 holder...

it does look a little 'off' for copper but certainly not completely unusual.

will you be re-submitting it ?

(should have left it in the NGC slab image )

That is the oddest color I've ever seen.

perhaps it is just the picture, but that coin does seem to have an odd look to the color.

that crackout game is getting tougher... now just think if that digital imagery had been implemented by both services already image.... it'd be a no brainer.

I humbly ask : "could I borrow twenty dollars ?"

don't Gunsmiths call that "blueing" ?
  • From the image, it almost looks more silver than copper to me. I didn't know "questionable color" was something they would bodybag for. I would've thought they would just label it "cleaned". If it's authentic, it's obviously made of the right metal.
If you haven't noticed, I'm single and miserable and I've got four albums of bitching about it that I would offer as proof.

If the photo color is accurate, the coin was probably given an ammonia dip. The steel blue color is the give-away.

    Excellent call.

Why in the heck would anyone dip copper in ammonia ?

Oh yea....Another NGC winner. Is anyone keeping track of just the screw ups that have been shown here ?

to me the coin looks to be made of silver, not copper, so the
color is, to me, very strange.
