i did a test with the holder my nickles came in from the mint 2 roll set . i cut a part out and burned it and the smoke was black . i thank that falls into the family of pvc and abs plastic . i was wondering why my 2004 nickles were turning tan . NO! they were not in the sun .

Actually PVC isn't the problem; it's the plasticizer di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate.
