Miscellaneous sub questions

I have never submitted under a set registry special before. Heck I don't even have a set registered. But, am I right that as long as they are 1972 or up you could submit 25 cards from different years and different sports?

I have been thinking about sending in a Gretzky rookie to be graded. I think it falls in the 7-8 range. As long as I declare it's value under 75 bones will they accept it on the special?

And one last thing, I need to pick up some card saver 1's. Who has the best price and could get them to me by month's end?

Thanks for your time!

  • PSA will grade the Gretzky if you declare the value low enough.

I pay $0.07 each for Card Saver I's on eBay from Meade Collectibles. I usually buy 200 at a time to save on shipping.
  • Thanks!! I just ordered some card savers through Meade. Shipping should be pretty quick as we are both are in Minnesota.
  • I ordered from Columbia Sports on eBay. 1000 for $50.

Lots of cool things come from Minnesota . . . Like me! Want to move back so I can get my kids on skates without paying $6 a pop for open skating sessions in VA.

Where you from Plett? Willi Plett was one of my favorite North Stars brawlers. Behind Jack Carlson, of course. Also liked the lefty, Brad Maxwell.
  • I grew up in Minneapolis, but I now reside in the cake eater suburbs! Woodbury to be exact. I used to love going to the Met back in the day for the Blackhawks games. I think I still have a sore throat from calling for the head of Denis Savard. You could usually count on big Willi and Al Secord scrapping a time or two each contest. Fun times.
  • Grandfather lives in Woodbury. Nice area. Grew up in Nordeast Mpls and later Coon Rapids. Graduated from CRHS.

Yeah, the "SECORD SUCKS" chants were the best. The Met was a GREAT place. Went to a couple of the Stanley Cup games with the Isles.

I am a luke-warm North Stars collector. Have a lot of 8x10 autos and PSA cards. Mainly 9s from late 60s - early 70s. Perhaps I'll put together a registry set.

    What do you mainly collect?

    Take care.
  • Small world! I collect mainly baseball with an eye towards Carew and Killebrew. I am working on putting together an all star set from 1975, 76, and 79. I completed 77 and only have the Sutter to go in 81. After those I might do 78 and 80, although neither really jump out at me. Although the 78 set has some great photography.
