anybody have any luck on crossovers from gem elite to psa.i have the following elite graded cards 1970 topps #712 nolan ryan 9.5,1966 topps #30 pete rose 10,1976 topps #148 walter payton 10 and a 1975 topps mini #228 george brett.

I'd break them out and take my chances on submitting them raw.
That grading company isn't exactly highly regarded in the industry.

Actually there's all kinds of methods for opening slabs.
I just lay them on a flat hard surface like concrete and beat on their edges with a hammer.
Then they pop right open ...

<< <i>The method that wolfbear suggests works good. One thing that helps too is to cover it with an old towel before you tap the edges with a hammer. That prevents the peices from flying everywhere. I've cracked a couple semi modern cards from Gem holders that came back nice from PSA but I've heard others say that they had vintage come back trimmed. It's a crapshoot. >>
Oops ... Wabittwax is correct ... but he just happens to have x-ray vision.
I always put the slabs in a see-thru freezer bag before I start smashing to protect my eyes.
Remember, you only want to hit the edges of the slab ... not the part where the card is ...
