psa error

I was just looking through some of my 85 topps cards when I remembered that there was one that would not go into the registry. I have had this happen before and thought it was no big deal, however when i pulled the card out and looked at it this afternoon it slabbed an 1983 topps instead of 85. Can I just send this in with my next submission and get them to fix it ? How will PSA handle this ??

    I don't know - maybe they'll put a 1984 on it? image

    Hmm..image

Are you 100% certain this card is not a 1983 Topps card?

How long have you been collecting cards?

  • If you send it in with your next submission. Fill out an additional submission form mark Mechanical error on top of the form . They will fix it for free and pay the shipping on getting the card back to you(you pay the shipping to get the card to them)

I guess when they hand write the info down to pass it along for the slabbing process that the 5's look like 3's

What did you do with yours creeper kat ??

  • I live nearby PSA and plan on dropping it off this Friday at Public Friday.

I also have to drop off this spelling error (which the last name is spelled incorrectly).

  • Didnt Barry Latman, Bobby Richardson, Yogi Berra and Berk Ross all play the infield for the Yanks in 63?

  • I believe Berk was a left fielder.

I have a 1924 (according to PSA) V252 Morenz (scan is on my Registry v252 set - 'Mark927's etc. etc'. They just graded my 1940 W711-2 Team Issue Bill McKechnie as a 1940 Playball and its on its way back to me. I don't mind the wrong date on my Morenz since they did correctly identify the set, but the McKechnie frosts me as it is not the same size as a Playball or have the same design. At least they didn't call it trimmed.

  • I emailed 2 weeks ago about an error on a card (card is labeled right, it's just wrong when I put in the registry/cert check)...I sent a scan of the card (its a freakin' 85 Donruss Seaver correct...for heaven's sake)...

Sandman I have ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS received a reply within a day from Cosetta or Gail. Did you email them or just customer service generically?

Try emailing one of them direct.

    Steve

Talon you have been a member of these forums for 27 minutes yet you can make such a claim? Or are you an alt id?
and if you are an alt id.......of whom?

tennesseebanker, Are you 100% certain that this not a 1983 graded testicle?

How long have you been collecting them?

Oh wait, sorry wrong thread image

    matt
  • as often as they get the year/set/player/number wrong...it makes you wonder how often they get the grade wrong...

Good point oddball... ya just have to wonder.

Talon you have been a member of these forums for 27 minutes yet you can make such a claim? Or are you an alt id?

....... then again, I've only been a member of these forums for 27...err, 28 minutes now. I guess the 25+ years I've been collecting has no baring on this subject matter, nor the 4 years I've been a member of PSA.

    ... but that's OK.

ALWAYS Looking for Chris Sabo cards!

  • I've run into this problem before with the 1985 Topps cards listed as 1983 Topps, seeing that I am actively collecting both sets. I have stockpiled 14 such cards so far, as well as two mispelled names (one is the Ron Romanick that CreeperKat alluded to and has since replaced with the correctly spelled one) and one slabbed #24 Jesse Barfield but contains #240 Dave Stieb (right team, wrong card). I've been putting off sending in all of my mechanical errors because they just keep coming.
  • Geez, what's wrong with everyone here???

You could easily sell these PSA error cards on Ebay as 1/1s!!! image
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12
