"PCGS almost seems to be grading like they have on a historical basis for these states of late. Are they just luring us in for a huge dissapointment?"
Mark: I take it you are pleased with the grading - you deserve it as much as anyone.
That particular top pop business strike 05 state quarter is now down more than 40% since its last ebay auction appearance around 30 days ago I believe (fair offering price by the way Mark in light of last auction where the "big guns" were fighting for this coin at $1,000+). With the non-SF coins being required in the variety set (or wherever else PCGS places them) - watch what Mark can (single handedly) do to the pops! Go get them my man!

This may be true but this coin went to Ebay with an attractive buy now price and ended before it had a chance to be veiwed by many. Things may have been different if this coin went to the end with bidding.

Yep. They did that to me....
I got #9041583 back (check it out, it's there, just scroll down) pretty much seemed like the grading of 2 years ago...
and then I got #9045911 back... and those coins were all more solid ms66+'s than many of the dates in #9041583! Only 14 out of 100! (Phew for not having to pay for the returned coins).
Edited to say: 200 wonderful rolls of 80-d I went through, and submitted 25 coins that should have been sure thing ms66's and only 1 graded! (and that coin should be a no doubter ms67).

What if the pop and the price had nothing to do with the purchase? Maybe it just matched the other 3 coins I have (they are pop tops, but realistically that is transitory, since that could all change tomorrow).
Could be I just needed the coin to upgrade a set, you know, from 183 points to 366 points, where the business strikes have more value than their more common sf counterparts and the price was just an added plus since I was prepared to spend more than Mark's b.i.n. amount!!!
<< <i>Ok Mark where are the MS67 Kennedy Business Stike coins? >>
<< <i>I think there is a market. >>
Trust me, there is no market!! But if you happen to make a 2005 or 2006 Business Strike Kennedy in MS 67 or higher, feel free to call (collect) and I will feel bad and take it off of your hands for you!!
This is the quarter I just received from Mark. Its a beauty, and definately a keeper. This is just a quick pic I hurriedly took which doesn't do the coin justice at all. Later when I have time, I will take a better pic and reload it.
Thanks Mark, this is truly a georgeous quarter and also a great b.i.n. price. Personally, I think that if you had listed this with a good picture, and the b.i.n. price as the starting point, this would have came pretty close to the last one that was auctioned at Ebay. Needless to say, I consider myself very fortunate to have seen your post when I did.
Here are the better pics as promised. Had to wait forever and a day for my battery to charge. I appologize for the nosehairs, etc.. No matter how hard I try, can't seem to keep miscellaneous foreign matter from settling on the slabs!!!

I guess that wasn't too bad for 34 minutes of auction time!!!!
Sometimes I think it pays to be the early bird. I guess time will
tell.
Who the he_ _ needs a picture. I just hope it isn't one of those
mechanical errors we've been discussing in another thread!!!
Mark thanks for putting this up, and for the great coins I have
received from you in the past.

Edited cause I can't seem to get the thought from the brain to the keyboard, and spelling too

Don't tell him that, He will just go up on his B.I.N. price next time! Just kidding.
Sounds like you got a nice looking coin. Congratulations.
