D Brooks. In your face AFC

How good is this guy? Pro Bowl for the umpteenth time and then he goes and steals the show! Is all this guy does is return
picks back for td's in big games??

I was waiting for this post ...

After reading the "McNair" post by kuhlman, I had to check to see who won the game - which I forgot was yesterday.

  • To answer your question joestalin............he's not very good. With that Pro Bowl pick, he just matched his regular season output this season. Ten turnovers in the game........the NFL's best once again, showing why they belong in Hawaii. Tell me again why Michael Vick was there and why Joe Theismann continues to repeat over and over....."all Michael Vick knows how to do is win." If that was the case Joe T, why were the Falcons 8-8 this year??!!!

Michael Vick is one of the most overrated players of all time. I bet you San Diego is happy they didn't take Vick that year and instead took LT2...

LOL, I seriously had no clue Monty was wrestling now. While he was attenting college in town here like 10 years ago, I got into a little scrape with him at the bar. It was stopped before it got anywhere too deep and I wasn't completely unhappy about that as he was a big feller even then.

Steelers have one of the most avid and stable fan bases in the entire NFL. There will always be bandwagoners but you'll be hard pressed to find a team with a more dedicated fan base win, lose or draw. Of course it's tough to predict what the fan base would do if the Steelers played poorly since they rarely have a losing season. image

They pretty much sucked in the 1980s -- so much so that the fans wanted Chuck Noll fired toward the end of his career.

They weren't that bad. They were two games over .500 for the decade and they went to the the AFCC game in 1984/5. That's not that great for the Steelers but certainly better than many teams.

Of course I knew the stealers are going to have a big fan base - winning 4 super bowls will do that for you (Just see the 49ers).

But its comedy watching the so-called 'fans' come out and claim themselves as such now...talking trash like they've been here all year.

I would hope with 6 afc championship game appearances, you'd at least get one win...but hey, it's one more than the eagles are ever going to have.

I was born in 1970. I recall my grandfather being quite the avid and nasty (if a game was on)Cleveland Browns fan when I was a young boy. When I was little and if I was at their house and the Clowns were playing Pitts....I was told that I could not say a word during the game. LOL!! He would really get into those games and would get genuinely pissed if you rooted against the Clowns.

In grade school I remember watching Pitts and Dallas playing in one of their Superbowls. That was when I first got interested in football......I have liked the Steelers ever since and my buddy still likes the Cowboys. I suppose I became a bandwagon fan while I was a toddler.

I prefer college football any day over the NFL but that's just me.

I usually post on the Steelers message boards and have done so for the past four or five years. I've been a fan since 1976 whereI have faint memories of Superbowl X which I watched as a kid. Most of my posts on here have been in the set registry forum. This is primarily a card collecting website. If you want to talk sports with large numbers of fans, I'd recommend you go to a team sport message board.

I was exaggerating a bit but only a bit. The activity on this forum pales in comparison to the vast majority of dedicated team sport message boards. Maybe the Bucs don't have much of a fanbase. If so, I can see why you pin your hopes on a peripheral forum that was created after the fact to avoid diverting focus from card collecting on the main message boards.
  • AxtellAxtell Posts: 10,037 ✭✭
The Bucs' message board is quite active, and it was quite common to see 300+ people regularly on there during football season.

And 'pin my hopes'? My hopes of what? The same way you pinned 'your' team's hopes of winning the super bowl on the refs bailing you out time and again?

You're a clown and worse, you're a bandwagon clown. If you're here for the collectible aspect of things, why are you HERE in sports forum land?

Actually the funny thing is I accidentally clicked on the 'Sport Talk' link instead of the 'Set Registry' link one day. Then I saw all the smack talk against the Steelers and felt compelled to chime in. Now it's simmered down to the point where there's really no incentive to continue posting here. I'll continue posting on the Steeler sites and ocassionally on the set registry forum here. So you and your fellow Buc fan can continue with your private chats without disruption.

    Have fun.

There is a LOT of Steelers fans across this country, has been for years. Back in the 1996 Superbowl in Tempe, AZ, I went to the Superbowl festivities the night before the game. They were playing the Cowboys so I expected most people to be Cowboys fans since they were "America's Team" and it was the days of Troy, Emmitt, and Michael. Boy, was I wrong. Steelers fans outnumbered Cowboy's fans at least 2 to 1. There were 10's of thousands of people there and all you could see was huge waves on black and gold walking down the streets. Plus, Steelers fans were walking in huge groups chanting and dancing while Cowboys fans were relatively tame and just smiled while sipping their beers.

Steelers fans haven't come out of the woodwork (maybe a few bandwagoners of late), they've been there for years.

you are a blathering idiot and prove it time and time again.

I don't read every thread on here much less reply to every thread on here.

You, on the other hand, log on solely after your teams have won. When they lost, which was very often this year, your sorry ass was nowhere to be found. You proved all year that you are truly a textbook BANDWAGON FAN.

You have zero credibility and deserve no respect whatsoever from anyone here.

The moron that doesn't even honor simple sigline bets criticizing others. What a laugher.
