PEG LEG IKES FOUND.........
COINDOG
Posts: 402
I attended the Charlotte, N.C. show today, and found several Peg Leg Ikes : 1974-D, 1978-D, 1977-D, 1976-D-Type # 2, and four ( 4 ),
Proof 1971-S Peg Legs.
However, no 1972-P- Type # 2 raw coins. I stayed all day, and looked at every Ike at the show.

Thanks,

Don't feel bad about not findng a Type 2......they are getting REALLY hard to find! Too many people have been
searching for them for many years. The raw supply of them is drying up fast!

You gonna keep em raw or send em in for grading?
<< <i>I went to a show today. Looked through about 200 1971-S Blue Packs. I found (1) Peg Leg. It is a nice one too! It will grade MS65,,,, possibly MS66!!!!!

Nice score! I believe these are much tougher than this.

Gary, good job on the business strike peg leg. I have been searching for many years, and have found only one in the last three years.
I don't have a digital camera, so could someone post a picture of one, so that the other members could see how they look ?
Thread on Peg Legs w/pictures
Scroll down and you will see photos ajia posted for me of one of my Peg Legs awhile back. Look at the letter "R" in Liberty. The "R" has pointed legs,,,, THUS the term "PEG LEG"

I think that I will keep them raw until PCGS adds them to the registry. The 1972-D is not that hard to find, slightly more difficult than the 1971-S proof peg leg. The other peg leg Ikes are much more difficult.
The 1971-S business strike is very, very hard to find.
<< <i>thought we did a pole a while back to get PCGS to add the peg legs to the VAR set; what ever happened with that >>
