In Old Lvov

According to my mother, the city pictured on this medal was the big metropolis for my grandparents.
As for the discoloration, it is not really there. I was fooling around with light sources, and the photo, not the coin, is discolored.

Lvov, a fantastic, majestic old Polish city. Bartered away by Stalin, FDR and Churchill to appease Stalin. What a tremendous loss for Poland.

My grandparents, who emigrated sometime around 1890, still referred to the city as Lemburg, and to the region as Austria (Austro-Hungarian Empire). Later on in life, I learned the area's complicated history and the tragedy of Poland.
