A pair of dug Roman Siliqua...

...a friend and his wife from the States dug these two Siliqua whilst hunting with me last week.
First is one of Arcadius as Constantine, I think.
Second out is one of Constantius II. I think.
I think I may have a scattered hoard in one of my fields. Good eh?

They date to about 350-450 AD...and yes, I need to get one or two now.

Latin. Roman coins had inscriptions in Latin, but they aren't always easy to read, even if you know a little Latin and the lettering is clear. They used a lot of strange abbreviations.
The thought of digging 1,600+ year-old coins blows my mind.
