Why does PSA do this? . . .

Why is it that you wait till the last possible day to post grades every single time a submission of mine is made? I always pay for 10 day service or less, the date received is always later than it is actually received because I ship 2 day priority, so I know when it arrives. It just makes no sense to run an operation on the edge like that . . . There has to be some logical reason for waiting till the last minute to do things?

Making people wait builds tension and anticipation - sorta like your first date.
Then when she...er I mean they "deliver" - it results in a much more gratified "happy ending."
Don't ya just love business?

So would you say getting lower grades than anticipated is like buying your date lobster and just getting a handshake goodnight?

One thing we have learned is the "received" date is the date the order is logged into the system, not the date the order is delivered. In a perfect world (wherever that is), the order would get logged in as soon as the box comes in the door, however, that is never the case. The factories I work with allow a 24 hour window and sometimes that gets pushed to 2 or 3 days, depending on when a human being is actually able to physically enter the info into the system and get the order rolling. It's frustrating for sure, but PSA is not alone in this - it's a fact of life.
It's a proven medical fact that complaining about it will shorten your life expectancy.
