My first little Indian cent... (Grade opinions plz!)

And one of my last, I think. It's for my type set... is this color natural, or has it been messed with?

1884 Indian Cent Reverse

The pics aren't the greatest I've done.. I've gotten better since these were taken! image

Hard to tell from the pics.....I *think* I see some rub on the obv pic and would place it AU55/Au58.
As for the color....again, hard to judge for me...I hope it wasn't but it may well have been.

Will let the experts chime in though.
(until I get better I am trying to shy away from raw IHCs in the AU-MS category)

I just retook the pics with a 2 MP higher camera-- looks a bit better. (The pics, not the coin!) image

I would go with MS-64, but I cannot tell if the color is original or not from the picture. The colors do seem off to me though.

    Congratulations!

MS63 - the color is fine, I have an MS64 RB that is even more purple than this one.

Dang, Indians are hard to grade. image/

I spent $60.00 on it, so I can only be so screwed-- it does look nice in my Cap Plastics type set!

I don't know... The color almost has a pinkish appearance suggesting they've been cleaned. If not, I'd say 63RB.

Bump.. I sold it on Ebay for...

    $61.00! image

I'd prefer to own something like this in NGC or PCGS plastic.. something a bit more market acceptable.
