How does someone in the US go about obtaining a UK proof set?

So, I go some junkmail last night (Littleton catalog) and was flipping through it before throwing it away.
I saw the UK Proof set and it looked pretty cool.

They want $99+shipping though and I don't think I will pay that much.

How much is it from the UK and how does someone in the US go about obtaining it? I've never ordered from overseas and not sure about costs/customs/etc.

Worst case scenario, I do have a co-worker from the UK and could get a UK mailing address but then not sure if there would be high costs to mail it here (and go through customs).

Thanks!

What year? Many members here might have multiple sets/years which are far less than $99....at least for most sets since decimalisation.

Royal Mail/Insured only runs about $5/6 from the UK to the States. Without going through the BRM, there are also several members on the UK side of the pond who could advise (tonyhar, andybruce, syl, etc.)

  • The latest set is the 2006 which is available in a number of types.
The standard proof set is £39.95 here in the British Isles.

  • The British Royal Mint has a distribution warehouse in the United States and orders can be placed directly through their web site ... same prices as Tony quoted.

... edited to fix one minor oopsie. The British Royal Mint has a separate web site for the US ... link fixed above.
