MN Collectors . . .

Did anyone ever attend the old '70s card shows at Apache Plaza in Mpls?

I can remember my dad walking around with his "want list" on the back of an old envelope.

First Saturday of every month. Seemed HUGE to me at the time.

I use to attend these shows. This was back when I was in grade school. I think I was actually a member of the Twin Cities Sports Collectors Club and they would put these on at the time. It was always a lot of fun to buy and sell at these shows. Sure wish I wouldn't have sold so much back then. I also enjoyed going to the Thunderbird and State Fairground shows. Those were the days. The walk-ins were incredible.

  • Yeah, I was just a little kid at Waite Park elementary.

Many of the '52 Topps we bought at those shows still had that natural curve in the cards with razor sharp corners. Lot of good guys to buy from back then.
  • Alright, i'm a MN collector...where are those 52's??? image

  • I remember those card shows - there were coin shows too!!! Gosh, I spent a lot of my money at them when I was younger image

I haven't been back there in forever - do they still do shows? I know Apache ran into some financial trouble a while back.
