My First Submission Is In!

Well here are the results from my first submission. I used my twelve free ones for joining the collector's club. The first four were my friends and the rest is mine. Everything from my portion came back as expected except the Winters cards.
Those three were SGC crackouts that graded 7, 8.5 and 9.
Well the one 9 stayed and 8.5 jumped to a 9oc which I'm not all to happy about. But the SGC 7 goes to a PSA 5!
I may resubmit the 9oc in the hopes of dropping the oc but I tried that with one PSA holder in the past and damaged the card trying to crack it out!
Any thoughts welcome

    Hi Brian

When you get the Winters 9OC back - could you take the time to scan it? As a rule, they are generous with the nonqualifier on centering.

    Sorry about the 7 to a 5!

overall, I'd say pretty good for a first submission. I'm a little disappointed in the Jackson RC. The '82 Rose, I'm shocked over. I think PSA may have missed something on that one.

Brianwintersfan, Thanks for sharing. Its fun to see grades and scans. Everyone keep posting them!

  • Brianwintersfan, thanks for sharing! That 5 really does stink. That 78 Murray could have been a little higher too - huh? Still - a lot better than my first submission.

1mouzon - why the heck would you alter that card?!? image Nice 10 on the Rose - and that 9 Henderson is nice too!

I won a raw 78 Topps set last summer on Ebay from Steve at BBCE. The Molitor was the 8 that I sent in and had graded. No smudge and a solid 8 that I will add to my '78 Brewers team set. The Murray wasn't great but I knew it had a shot at a 7 and having it graded would make it a little easier to sell for a few $$.

Well then - great job! I'm still looking for my Molitor rookie card. I'd be sooooooo happy with an 8!

Those Fleer stickers are tough in 9 and 10 - nice job on the Jordan!

  • Got that from a box I bought from Steve as well. Just looked at the centering and corners and that was it. It was easy to pick out the good one cause the other four or five were off as usual. I rarely ever use any sort of loupe but instead just use my eyes.
  • Just got my cards in and it gets more interesting. The Brian Winters SGC 84(7) that I thought got knocked down to a PSA 5 actually is the one that ended up a 9oc. And the SGC 92 is the one that went to a PSA 5 because of a surface wrinkle that I guess SGC didn't think was important but PSA did!(good call dgf). I will post a few scans later tonight.
  • One on the left was a SGC 96 that crossed over to a PSA 9. The one on the right was an SGC 84 that jumped to a PSA 9oc

Then this one was the SGC 92 that dropped to a PSA 5. And the Molitor was pulled from a raw set I bought from BBCE. No smudge!
