DELIVERY CONFIRMATION from USPS Kiosk computer

Hi, I mailed a package from my post office's computerized mailer on Saturday afternoon and paid $0.50 for delivery confirmation. The package was $4.05 and I selected the delivery confirmation option, etc. IN short, I was charged $4.55.

The computer told me to put a delivery confirmation sticker on the box and save my part that I tore off. Today, there is still no record of the package via the USPS website.

Has anyone ever done this? Will it just be scanned when it's delivered? I was confused and would appreciate anyone's help.

Best,

Josh

Josh, I know whenever I try and use the usps website to track packages, there is always problems with the system. It never updates the info. I wouldnt worry about it.

  • What I have found is that specific confirmation lets you know only after the package is delivered with no interium updates whatsoever.

You got me on this one--the kiosk I used last week directed me NOT to use one of the tearoffs. Instead, they printed the delivery confirmation number on the postage (with a bar code). Do you still have your receipt? Because if so, the receipt should have a print out of the delivery confirmation number on it.

On a side note, the priority package I sent out via the kiosk took 5 days to get from FL to VA.

    Go figure.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Same thing holds true for paypal/usps shipping. Unless you go stand in line and have a clerk scan it into the system (which defeats the purpose) no interim updates will occur. You would think that somewhere in the sorting process, or shipping to the various regional post offices/weigh stations, some device would pick up the package. I guess if you want FedEx/UPS service it would just cost more.

Actually, the receipt shows that I paid for delivery confirmation but doesn't have the ### on it. They told me to attach the label and retain the other part of it. Very strange.
