Super Bowl coin dig with my son

claychaserclaychaser Posts: 4,405 ✭✭✭✭
My 8 year old son and I have no interest in pro football, so we went on a dig today. It was sunny and 75 degrees in our California backyard. We prospected the park across the street form us in the sand around the play equipment. My son starts out with his new White's detector from Santa Claus. He gets a solid "hit". Dad digs up the sand with our army shovel - and he checks the hole and the pile with the all metal mode - hits on both!. We sort it and sift it out - 2 clad quarters. We find all kinds of hits in a 10 foot square area - and dig up 10 quarters, 5 dimes and 2 cents. All clad - but quite a haul for 10 minutes.

Only $197 to go before Santa sees a return on his investment - but we sure had fun!

Goin' diggin' is a far better use of one's time than watching the Super Bowl. image
