snipesnipesnipesnipesnipe... BOOM!

Did some manual sniping tonight instead of letting the service handle it. Came away with a few decent coins all from the same seller, all with some potential... I especially wanted the last two... badly.
  1. South Africa 6 pence, 1935. Linkypoo. Seller claims XF, I say VF, but who cares for 99 cents...

  2. Italy 5 Lire, 1871. Linkish. I'll have to weigh it out, as these are extremely prone to counterfeiting. Looks like a decent XF though. Cost: $20.77

  3. Colombia 50 centavos, 1892. Abraham Linkin. Very attractive, seems to have a bit of lustre remaining. Cost: $15.75

  4. and lastly...

Prussia 2 Marks and 3 Marks, 1913. Onesie. Twosie. Two different auctions, but they appear to be a matched set by the toning. I have a couple in XF, but I really like the way these look, and they didn't go nearly as high as I thought they would. Cost: $37.80 for the pair. Frankly, I think they're gorgeous!

Gee, those last two look nice and if you dipped them, they would have a blast white finish just like the day they were minted! image I am partial to German States coinage and Prussia (Preussen) coins in particular. Those certainly look like winners in my book. They would be very nice additions to almost any Prussian set or have the makings for a fabulous beginning of a Prussian/States collection. Congrats on your winnings!

I agree with your evaluation of the sixpence. Looks VF-ish to me, too. Those Prussians are gorgeous!!! The rim toning looks like typical album toning.
