Quick Question re: NFL Head Coaches

My apologies for an off topic question, but I guess if anyone would know, this group would. Does anyone ever recall a NFL head coach being ejected from a football game? I've been watching since 1981 and can't recall this ever happening. Of course, everyone knows that in baseball, basketball and hockey, the head coaches/managers are ejected regularly? But why not the NFL? If the NFL head coaches know this (that they basically can't be ejected), how can this not be an open invitation for the head coaches to verbally assault the referees?

P.S. Can you imagine a NFL referee ejecting Bill Parcells? Now that would be something...

Why does the NFL allow their officials to be abused verbally by players and coaches to a much greater extent then let's say baseball or basketball. I can't ever recall seeing a player or coach ejected for their tirades in the NFL, whereas it's an almost everyday occurrence in the NBA or MLB. --Bill Schaal, Michigan City, Ind.
The NFL officials are not abused verbally by players. They have a lot of respect for the men on the field, and in almost all cases treat the officials just like they would like to be treated. The coaches get very emotional during games and do a lot of yelling from the sideline. But foul language is not permitted and penalties will be assessed if the language gets too rough. Football is a tough game, played and coached by tough men. The officials develop a "thick skin." Baseball has an ejection rule primarily because the arguments take up game time, and baseball games last long, anyway. The length of a football game is not affected by the complaining from the sidelines. I cannot speak for the NBA, but I know that there is a lot of yelling from the sidelines, just like football.
