<< <i>I see now there are some silver and gold coins, I was going to say "how much could 10,000 aluminum coins weigh anyways" >>
You'd be surprised how heavy this load is, but there must be some kind of scam going down because I only snatched 8,241 coins. It took a bit to count and stack them. Wanna see pictures?
<< <i>Hey!!! I resemble that remark.
Isn't Phillip from Bulgaria . . . >>
Yep, I heard about the incident, although there weren't many details disclosed. All coins stolen were ancient, as you may suppose.
The monthly numismatic convention is held every first weekend of the month in Veliko Tarnovo. I did not attend it, but I'm going to inquire about any rumors that may have circulated.

<< <i>We'll have to watch Philip's sigline to see if his "completed" list goes up a few percentage points.
The "completed" statistic includes 1801 - present.

Oh, that's why the number hasn't gone up I guess....

<< <i>Well this might not at all have anything to do with it, but just recently I was approach via e-mail by a bulgarian who presented himself as a coin dealer wishing to sell, among other things, roman silver denars. He wasnt cheap though which one might think he would be if he stole them and wanted to sell them quickly...

And that could very well be the way the thief/thieves would get caught. I'd do a complete DNS data search on the IP address and the email address if I were you and see if it anything looks odd. Do you know how to do that?
I know I was joking around earlier in this thread, but this kind of business is bad for collectors in general, isn't it? Or should I say the numismatic business? Of course, there may be those that disagree.
I think if you might be able to help law enforcement you should. But the first step would be your own desk research.
Oh yes, and time is a critical factor when dealing with this affair. As time slips by those coins will be harder and harder to track down.
Thank you Bulgaria, for your generous giveaway.
<< <i>Eh, no Im unfamiliar with how to do such searches, but I would of course give it a try if someone gave me some pinpointers and advice. I tried to make a search on the persons name, location (Bulgaria) and occupation (coin dealer) in case a website or something turned up but it didnt. That dont have to mean anything though. >>
I sent a PM about this to you Berg, just in case you subscribed to this thread.
