Is this BGS 9.5 going to hurt my PSA 10?

Is this BGS 9.5 going to hurt the final price of my PSA 10. My PSA 10 ends tonight. The BGS just started and has 9 days left. Here are the links.

My 1984 Donruss Mattingly PSA 10

BGS 9.5

Any opinions. Will the Set Registry at least help mine a little? Will the BGS interfere with mine at all? How much will the BGS (and mine for that matter) go for?

    A word of advice...Relax.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Easy to say... hard to do when you need the extra money. But, advice taken. I would still like some more opinions though.

How much did you pay for the card originally ? I dont think it is going to hurt it much, The big bidders on yours are mostly going to be PSA set reg folks that wouldnt really need to look at a BGS card. Relax, and watch the bids fly around closing time.

I am a bit suprised that the BGS has seen as much action as the PSA card already. 9 days left on the BGS and only 4 hours on the PSA 10. Interesting!

Believe it or not, but I really have nothing in it. It came in a large set collection that I bought, ungraded. I sent it in to PSA and it got a 10. That was my thoughts as well (about the registry)

    Both cards should do well!

I sold an 84 OPC 9.5 back in November for $290. 1984 OPC #8 DON MATTINGLY RC BGS BVG 9.5

edit: I think your Donruss is considered "the rarest" of the Mattingly Rookie cards!

    Good luck!

Me personally? I would not agree with "popular opinions"!

The Topps Mattingly has 128 PSA 10's
The Donruss Mattingly has 32 PSA 10's
    The O-Pee-Chee Mattingly has 3 PSA 10's

edit: My unpopular choice for the rarest Don Mattingly rookie card is the OPC (...the one I sold for $290!!!!! Maybe the best example "on the planet"?), but the Donruss will "blow it away" in popularity and will command a much larger "pricetag"...

chill out bro, things will take care of themselves.

your card is up to nearly $700, exactly how much cheese are you wanting from this card?

of all the modern cards to worry over, this is not 1 of them.

Why is the BGS card so bright ? Did the guy turn up his brightness on his scanner ?

    People of the board,

I am not worried. I am relaxing. I don't have to chill out, because I am already chilling. My blood pressure is normal. My hands are not sweating. Did I mention that I am not worried?

I think everybody took it wrong. I think the people on these boards are very well informed. I just wanted to know everybody's opinion. Did I mention I am not worried?image

Your title would lead one to believe that maybe your were worried a little? LOL!

...Your Posting Title: "Is this BGS 9.5 going to hurt my PSA 10?" Nice to see that you are not worried! And nice to see you are doing well (i.e., price!) with your PSA auction!

......but hey, a couple of hundred bucks is a couple of hundred bucks. Know what I mean????

  • Your PSA 10 has excellent centering, (considerably better than the BGS example). I can see it going for $750-800. At least you've got a current good high bid at $660 from a good eBayer.
  • I'm a TERRIBLE ebayer!

It went for $850.00. Not bad. Only thing is the high bidder has a feedback of 11. It is 100% though.
