Another Grades popped!

Well, I'm getting somewhat better on going over my cards before submitting. I did get my first 10's, but still disappointed on some of them - but isn't that always the case? It definitely does help to use a 10X loupe. Some of the 7's & 8's I sure don't understand. I wouldn't have submitted those commons if I didn't think they have a good chance at a 10. Also, the Sandberg was better than an 8 - and that's a fact!

  • Whats the N/A mixed in there with the cards info?

For the love of the game
And the cards that go with it

The N/A means that there's no special "variety". If you notice a couple others, they say sonething like "All-Star Rookie", USA BASEBALL TEAM, or TOPPS REPRINT. It's probably most often used in regular issues to differentiate between an AllStar card and the regular card of a player.

I see you left the Coating on the Clemente. I have a Mays like that with the coating too, but I think one of the corners got knicked. Cool looking cards though.

Yeah, a real mixed bag. I have no focus whatsoever. image This submission basically represents cards I got from opening packs I got off from Ebay. Most of the packs I picked up from what I refer to as "bottom feeding" - just watching a lot of auctions for unopened and picking up good bargains. It's a lot fun opening the packs, I don't spend a lot of money, and hey, I get a nice card now & then. If I figure it's worth it, I have the good ones graded and sell them. The rest I just keep. I have well over 20k cards by now and I just like them all. image Since I joined this forum, I've also expanded my "lack of focus". Every time someone posts scans of "something different", I go out on the Bay and see what I can get just like it. In fact today I just received two full sets of the "Collect-a-Books" that someone posted about a week ago. I just like baseball a lot, and enjoy it's rich history. I find it cool to add a representation of what's available, rather than a full set of any one year or type. I have about 15 T206's, 10 T205's, a couple of Red Hearts, and several cards (or hundreds) from just about every year from 1952 to 2005. If I run across something I haven't seen before, I usually have to buy it.

I'll post scans of some of the cards when I get them back. And I seem to have noticed too that the higher $ potential a card has, the tougher it is to get a good grade. Oh well...

Yeah, I left the coating on. I thought for sure it was a 10, and figured I'd sell it. Thought it might bring more with the coating on. Don't know what I'll do with it now because I really like Clemente and that's a cool card.

Not bad Scott, I've seen worse.

A PSA 10 1986 topps card seems like a miracle with those black borders. Nice OPC's too!!

    Thanks for sharing.

I'm terrible at remembering names but "someone" once replied when asked if the Boston Red Sox were for sale "Of course, they're for sale - if the price is right. Hell, I'd sell the coat I'm wearing if the price was right!." image

So, of course they're for sale!

Mucky, I wouldnt mind trading you someting for that 85 rice. I just submitted quite a few 85's and got a rice back in 9 myself, but would sure would like that 10 you got to stick into the set registry I start of 85 Topps. Look over some of my 85's I submitted and let me know. They are under the thread of 85 topps rack case break grades. I would like to keep any I only have one of but all others are game. Thanks-TB
