Dang, that is a boatload of 10s. Congrats on the super case break and submission
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

I knew going in the Clemens and Mcgwires' would probably grade 8 or 9's, But honestly I thought every other card had a reasonable chance of being a 10. I was very surprised to get three Puckett's in 10! And I though for sure one of the Mattingly's would have been a 10. But I am very happy with the way it turned out.image

That is awesome! I have had that the last few times I submitted so I kinda expected it this time. Not so much. Mine logged on 1/26 and I have a feeling it is going to be a while. I had 30 Mexicans in there and I think they may be holding it up.

That last statement looks really bad if you don't know what I am talking about.

Anybody know how much puckett goes for in a 10 on E-bay ? I have a feeling I may actually get my money back from this case, of course I will probably buy another case but that is another story.

I still have a boatload of commons and some minor stars to send in, I just wanted to send in most of the high dollar cards first, along with some I knew couldnt miss. I will probably sell the Clemens and Mcgwires and try for 10's of those in my next case. lol

do you think graders grade some cards w/ a finer tooth comb versus other cards? you can probably guess the cards i am referring to, but i have to ask the question?

Wow! Great job on the grades. I wonder if I should be worried? My sub was logged in on 1-10-06 and still no grades.

  • Hi tennesseebanker,

I am looking for a few PSA 9s from 1985. Specifically I need:

    352 Joe Morgan
    515 Dave Concepcion
    670 Tom Seaver

If you have any of these from your box break that you feel confident would get 9s I would be willing to pay you $5 apiece plus grading fees plus shipping if you wanted to send them in on your next submission. I'll take the risk and but them anyway if they don't come back as 9s. Thanks.

Yes I do. I know they aren't supposed to, but I really do believe that no matter how hard they try not to look, they do see it is a Clemens Rookie.

    tennesseebanker,

Are you interested in selling any of the Mattingly's you got back ? I would be interested in any Guidry, Nettles, or Gossage you have with a shot at getting a 9 or 10.

Real nice grades too, congrats !!

Are the Ryan's perfectly centered? I have yet to see a copy of one with perfect centering? I would be interested in one of your 9's if thats the case?

Both were very close to perfect centering if I remember correctly. But I have already traded one and I have to keep the other. I beleive I have one ungraded that looks pretty good if you want to see it.

I dont have a Ryan Rb the case I opened was very strange with the record breakers and all star cards. Hardly any of them were nicely centered. I think I saw a Ryan RB on E-bay if I am not mistaken you may want to check it out.

Jackstraw, I found the 85 Ryan. But it is very rough cut across the top. probably not psa 9 material

GUys, I have several boxes of cards leftover. I was just looking through some and saw two more puckett rookies centered about 60/40 amoungst alot of other stars. Most of the stars I have left will probably be a little off center, although some may have good shots at 9's. If anyone wants to see a scan of anyone let me know. I am still looking for a lot of your requests so far, sorry but I have a lot of stuff to go through, The stars are easily accesible though. I did find four Ryan Record Breakers all were pretty off center though. Thanks !
