The corners do not look as sharp as they could be. Specifically - the top left corner. But I would have to see it in person to be sure.
That said - I owned the first PSA 10 for a while, and this is a very high-end example. This card is even pretty rare in 9 grade
I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.
I picked up a nice 9 in Leland's auction a few months back for a fraction of the price of this 10. It is a really tough card to find in high grade. There are only 11 9's to go along with the two 10's.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
shagrotn, sorry i pushed you on that lelands bid. i came in 2nd. i was going one more click but that would have put me nearly $840 plus their outrageous shipping costs.

So it was you!!! Just kidding. Actually I placed what was the next bid about a week before the auction ended and wound up winning the card for that amount. Of course I stayed up until like 3 or 4 a.m. tracking the auction until it closed because I did not place a max bid. $840 would still have been a good price considering that 707 has a 9 for sale for $1,250. I offered them $1,200 a while back and they said no. Thank God for that!

it is a 1/1 on the psa 10 from that year and that is why it is called PSA registry and not someone else's opinion registry (no offense meant to anyone).
it was nearly the same price as this card which is two grades less and five years younger and a 1/12 with one higher.
I was working on the 1966 set for a while, but this was one of the cards I didn't have - if it was me, that 9 is just fine with me. Why spend almost 10X as much for a 10? I'd rather spend that money on other things.

But I'm not in that kind of league!
If I had 7500$, I'ld get the inside of my house painted!
mike
I had the outside of my house landscaped for $1500 in cards...
Did a refinance on a property...my lawyer collects and did the closing in cards...
Who says it's just cardboard....lol

i am sure the landscaper and attorney claimed that as income on their taxes. none of us would want you to be dealing with tax-evaders!

That is quite a card! And yes, well worth the $ compared to 7500$!!!! But, if a guy is going for top dog on the registry? Peanuts I guess?
thanx for the scan

As a Canadian, Fergie is a God in my area. We love him almost as much as Gretzky and Mike Weir ....
i am going for top dog on the registry, but i don't think "consignmints" will take a trade!
i did get the psa 10 claude raymond last night, the one that some were critical.
