Cross over Question ???

Whats the Cross over rate from BGS 9's and 9.5's??
Anyone done it before?

when you do a crossover, do you send it in it's original case or have to crack it out yourself?

sandman, crossover is when you send it in the case from another grading company. I unfortanately cracked open the 66 mantle bvg 8 and sent it in raw. I did this cause the card was oversize and I thought no way it would come back trimmed. I believe PSA err'd on that one. All the edges look the same as well.

So, if you are going to crack, make sure it's not trimmed and it should be a chance for a bump to a higher grade. I should have done crossover on the mantle since one corner keeps it from ever being a 9.

JMS, I have not crossed any modern from BGS, but I have heard many have with good success, but of course 10s are always hard to get at PSA. I am sending in 13 crossovers tomorrow, 10 SGC and 3 BVG (8.5s), all vintage though.

See this Ripken I feel that i could easily crack this one and get a 10. I've had alot of people tell me to send it in for a sub bump at the beckett booth at shows and it would get it. I'm just not sure i want to keep my cards graded beckett. It's a real strong Ripken card.

Personally, I've had nothing but success. I had three BGS 9.5s that all crossed directly to PSA 10s. I also had a BVG 8.5 that I cracked and got back a 9. I'd suggest to cross the 9.5s with a PSA 10 minimum grade requirement, and use your own judgement on how to handle the 9s.

Sounds like I need to get a sub bump to get it to a 9.5 from BGS. Then send it in for a crossover. It's a really nice card. Has to be the nicest 9 i own. Any thaughts?
