Ebay shipping question

I purchased multiple donruss and fleer sets such as 1986 Highlights and League leaders. The seller stated in his auction that he combines shipping on multiple wins. I contacted him and he told me to just send one payment through paypal and he would combine shipping. I won 7 auctions for a total cost of $8.23. The seller sent me an invoice with $18.80 in shipping. He told me he took half off each item's shipping amount and added it to the highest shipping amount. $27.03 just seems a little expensive for $8.23 in cards. I sent him a e-mail 4 days ago and have not heard back from him. Tonight, I receive a notice of non payment from ebay. Is there a rule about excessive shipping? Not sure what to do???

Apparently he did combine shipping, but it was not what you had in mind, of course. Its still crocked of him to do this to you. He is just trying to get more money because the sets sold fairly low. That should be his cross to bear, not yours.

  • eBay is really not a friendly place to live, and the deck is stacked in favor of the SELLER.
You must reaearch the seller carefully, especially when you are going to attempt to purchase multiple items. I always email the seller and establish exactly what is COMBINED S/H before doing multiple buying, for exactly the reason you are writing about.
EBay reasons, incorrectly, that the seller is the source of their revenue, when in actuality, the petroleum that fires the eBay economy is the buyer.
