Home Metal Detecting

Probably my best coin find to date!!

I made it out this morning for a couple of hours and within 5 minutes of being on the field, I pull out this little beauty.

One of the finds advisors from UK Detector Net (Folkert) stated the coin pictured above is as listed below:

Commemorative coin for Constantinopolis, obverse : head of C. to the left, reverse: Victory with shield to the left. Mint : Ttier (TR.S), 330-335 AD

I do believe that the mint is Trier instead of Ttier as he mentioned but I may be wrong.

This is the best Roman coin I have found to date---third one this year----third one ever--but third one this year sounds betterimage

The size is just slightly bigger than a dime, but smaller than a nickel.

Thanks for looking!!

    John,

I am trying to enjoy as much time in the fields as I can. It has been pretty cold out there the past two days. We are going to Southwest Oklahoma to a little town called Altus. We've never been there, but we are pretty excited about it.

    Laserart,

It might take me quite awhile to figure out who dropped it way back when image

Yep, you have to be right. "Ttier" is a typo.

    Bronze. It's a bronze coin.

Geez, he's got me so jealous, with all this stuff he's dug lately.
