ID huge 19th century? Russian? medal?

Any ideas? Someone on another forum posted this 3" wide, 1/4" thick and 14 oz medal. Any ideas? Is it pre-Soviet Russian?

  • It's definately Imperial Russian medal (pre 1917s).

Although I am not too sure what it could be, I am guessing it is a medal awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture.

My other Agricultural medals are from the 1880's. They seem popular around the world at that time.
