Thats alot of desserts for 1799.00. I have over paid for my share of cards the last few years but thats alot more then I would pay. Thats like 4 psa 8 drydens or even a couple Checklist #111's.

hmmm...you can even pick up some nice Registered Sets..or even partials for that price!!

I think it's an incredible card..but the $$$ is better spent elsewhere???

I don't collect hockey, and the only reason my attention was caught by the thread was b/c I happen to own a couple dryden rc's; but....are you guys perpetuating some sort of hockey anomaly i'm unaware of...b/c football cards of that caliber would have no problem collecting multiples of SMR?

Isn't this card one of those "landmark" hockey cards, especially being the OPC version? Alternatively, what would a PSA 9 Terry Bradshaw RC bring in....or a PSA 9 Mike Schmidt RC?

Personally, Since I own less hockey cards than I have fingers, I agree it's ridiculous to pay that kind of money just to have the 9....But if less than 5 of the 6 people who collect vintage hockey don't already own one, that price could get out of control in a hurry .

The card may sell . The 111 checklist graded 9 from this set sold for $2500 so we have a bidder that if he needs a card from this set in high grade he will pay it
