1986 Fleer #76 Johnny Moore BGS 9 for: $ 457.00???

There are "tons of PSA 9's" of this John Moore BK card (204 to be exact, plus 13 PSA 10's!). Over $450 for a Beckett 9? What am I missing here?

I am amazed at some of the prices 86 Fleer is getting, some of the prices on 10s are insane, IMO. I know the popularity of it, but GEEZ.

Wow! Look at BGS 9.5 Jordan rookie:

Which one looks better to you? The BGS 9.5 or the PSA 10? (Tough to spend 7 or 10 thousand from a scan for a 1986 card, no?)

1986 FLEER #57 MICHAEL JORDAN BGS 9.5 $ 10,000 (...with less than a day to go!) Nice looking card!

1986 FLEER MICHAEL JORDAN CARD #57 GRADED PSA 10 $ 7,000 (...with 3 1/2 days to go!) One would think a "supersized scan" would be "the deal" for a PSA 10 Jordon Rookie? The centering does not look like a $7000 card to me (both front and back!!!), ...what do u all think?

    Yikes! Holy Moly!

i'll agree with lothar on this that the 87's are tougher. it looks like prices are actually down from what they have been in the past (some of the stickers have sold in excess of $1k each). it looks as though some selling prices on BGS are reaching higher $$$ than the same grade PSA.

    Thanks,

    Over 7k

Is this in record territory for this card? It seems like every card from the set is moving up.

Yeah that's insane. If I'm dropping that kinda loot on anything '86 fleer it's gonna a Jordan, I don't care if it's the last card I need for a 10 set

I would love to see the look on Johnny Moore's face if someone told him his rookie went for $12,655. LOL

This is why I quit building a PSA 10 set. I could never rationalize spending $12k on Johnny Moore plus thousands more on Lewis Lloyd, the checklist and whichever other low pop common I would need for the set. More power to the guy who has the dough to do thatimage For me, I would take the $12k and buy #57 in the set in PSA 10 (I know that's probably a $15k card now, but you get my point).

What's funny is if you posted that card here raw and asked CU members what grade do think it might get,
you'd get answers like 8, 8.5, and maybe some 9's, offered as opinions.

Reasons, o/c reverse, lower right shows a tick of wear on the tip, the edges have some slight chipping,
the front centering is not perfect in either direction.

The dollar result is the power of the plastic slab, the registry, and a deep pocketed collector who wants to spend money.

I'm happy for the consignor in any event.

Johnny Moore went to school near me in Altoona, PA. Having said that, no, I'm not the one that shelled out that much dough for that card. image

    PSA 8

Here is a recent sale of his card in a PSA 8 for $7.99.

I am getting the feeling this may be the highest 8 to 10 ratio of any card that exists. 1,581.875 times the price in a 10.
