Goose Gossage PSA 9 Rookie - Your advice ...

I've been monitoring "Goose" rookies for several months now and this is the first PSA 9 I've seen come up on eBay. The SMR price is $120, but I know that PSA 8s (which list at $28) have been selling for more than the SMR price.

I'd love to own this card, but have limited resources. You guys are the most knowledgeable. How much would you pay for this card? Thanks.

Although this is the first PSA 9 auction for the Gossage you have seen, I would let this one run its course and see where it ends . THERE WILL be another that comes along, and one after that......etc.

You might want to put in a low ball bid or snipe ( $70?) for this one....stick to it!!

In my experiences with 73 topps they are notorious for being off center and miscut(diamond cut). The percentage of 9s out there of this card compared to what has been submitted of this card is low compared to most of the major 73 cards, with that said you will probably pay at least SMR if not a tad more.Do not get too agressive though as I think you will see more pop out as his consideration for the HOF will continue to grow with his eventual induction in the near future.

I seem to recall PSA 9 Gossage Rc's having sold on Ebay in excess of $300 at one point in the past year. I don't know how his HOF status affects this. Does anyone else remember this?
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

I’ve been tracking PSA 9 Gossage rookies on eBay for about a year now. The last few have sold for in the $125-$175 range. This example looks pretty nice. It’s a good idea to get your PSA 9 Goose rookie before he gets into the Hall. We all saw what that did to the price of Sutter rookie 9’s (from $50 to $175 on the average).

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."
