Who are these guys??

ebay bidder lafayette43 and papaw555....they bid each other up to 330 bucks for a 1957 taylor phillips in a psa 8....granted its a tough card....but jeeeezzzzz

1957 Taylor Phillips psa 8

I thought we were in a economic crisis here in america??? 330 for Phillips??? I think my psa 6 cost me under 20 bucks..and its better centered and has no snow...

    I do not know much about the 57s, but that is not a good looking 8 IMO. Bottom two corners look touched, the snow is terrible, definitely low end 8 if that. As far as those two bidders, sorry not familiar with them.

  • I agree, very low end 8 with print snow and the centering is not good.

    I have seen lafayette43 bid on a lot of vintage stuff for a long time. Not familiar with the other id.

    I've never previously heard of papaw555, but lafayette43 is one of the "legendary" ebay bidders for whom money seems to be no object. I (as well as numerous other CU forumites) used to get outbid by him constantly. If he wants a card, he normally gets it.

    That Phillips is pretty tough in 8. I've seen some go for $400-$500!
