Poll for Red Sox fans only: Damon or Crisp

OK, be honest Red Sox fans. Who would you rather have seen as the starting Center Fielder for the Red Sox in 2006?

In 2006? Perhaps it would have been nice if the rat-faced Damon stuck to his word and gave us one more good season.

But for 2007 and beyond, how could you not like Crisp there? By the way, Crisp hasn't even played a game yet for the Red Sox - you seem really concerned about this as a Yankee fan, Spammy. Aren't there any Yankee polls you should be starting? Like, is Jorge Posada going to the Hall Of Fame? Or, is Robinson Cano the best 2B of all time?

You seem obsessed with the team up North.

    No kidding ct.

Talk about damon loving (and spammy, your signature is STILL TOO BIG. Resize it!)

We all know Cano got jobbed as ROY, and Unit should have been Cy Young. Right spammy, right?

The sox are better off without Damon's two-faced ('it's not about the money'/'the yankees pursued me more') ass in Beantown, and crisp will do just fine. I'd bet Crisp has a better year than Damon.

Its OK Ax, they are laughing WITH you, not AT you.

You still have not confirmed that sig bet. Are we talking complete pitching staff or just the starters.

Step to the plate and put your money where the gaping hole in your face is. If not, then stop spouting off about being "willing to bet" It is obvious that you are a tight wad.

I wouldn't even be so sure about that. Crisp has surprising power, and he hit 16 HR's last year in Cleveland. I'd bet playing in Fenway sees him break 20+ this season.

One stat Damon will win? How about - runners scoring from second base on fly balls hit to center field.

That is for sure, good point, I cant believe I didn't include that one. You could be right about 20 + HR's. The last 2 seasons he has hit 16 and 15 respectively. I think with his BA. going up a few points to .300 as well he seems to be maturing as a hitter.

2 week sig line bet for crisp having a better year than damon, and a month icon bet on the mariners starting pitching staff having a lower era than the yankees.

Very interesting that you don't point out the short porch in left field at Yankee Stadium. MUCH different for the left handed hitter than Fenway CT. DOn't forget Damons upper deck shot in the ALCS that was a fly ball OUT in Fenway.

Another stat Damon will win? A shoe in for runs scored and batting average with the hitters around him

Axtell, it sux that you are such a tight wad but I guess you are a law abiding citizen. I will take both bets. BUT I HAVE ASKED YOU THREE TIMES already about the pitching staff bet. Are we doing a combined and complete pitching staff ERA or just the STARTERS. The starters were the crux of our arguement many moons ago.

Soft, you are correct about Damon benefiting from the short right field porch in NY as well. (Seems like half of Giambi's HR's last season were just over that porch.) And, I am sure he'll score a lot of runs with the lineup behind him, remember he's leaving the most potent hitting lineup in baseball over the last few seasons in going to NY, so I can't imagine his numbers would be any greater. It will come down to defense, and Damon has already shown signs of slowing down in that department. His best years are clearly behind him. I can see him having a decent 2006, but beyond that, it's a crapshoot. And, for $52 million, it's a gamble I am glad the Sox passed on.
