I'm coming up on 10,000 posts

and I thought I'd like to do a giveaway. I'd really like to keep it mainly to the YN's but I won't kick out the old timers that enter. Just respond to the post and once I hit ten thousand I'll draw out a name.

What am I giving away? I'll see if I can't pull out something nice from the 1790's out of my duplicates bag.

There are many forum members who really know their stuff but I would be hard put to name one who seems to have as varied a collection or who has more intelligent posts on as many varied numismatic subjects as you. I hope a YN wins but a certain amount of self-interest exists.image

enter me please. but if my name is drawn give the coin to a YN. Me too, please...image

That's a whole lot of posts. Combined over the 6-8 forums I post on, I may have half that amount image

Forgot to add don't enter me. Although I'm somewhat "new" to collecting, a younger collecter then myself would love this.

I think you have been a valuable resource and someone that has made excellent contributions over the years. I do not wish to participate, however, I like the idea of YN participation on the forum.

I don't want to be entered either, but I wanted you to know that I always read your posts with interest and I have learned a lot from them. Congratulations to an oldtimer who still has time to answer FAQs to newbies without ever repeating himself. image

I do not want to enter, I am not a YN not even on ON, I am a DN (dead numismatist).

I did want to say conga-rats on almost hitting 10k, you are an asset to this board and the hobby as a whole.

  • I don't know if I ever saw an explanation, but I am assuming that "YN" stands for "Young Newbie" (or something along those lines) - yes?

I have been lately getting one of my step-sons interested in the hobby, but he's only coming around slowly. Thing is, he's about to become a Daddy. Maybe the best way to "set the hook" on my step-son is to start his son of with a nice Darkside piece.

So please enter Christopher (due Saturday, 1/28, but you know how first babies can be) in this most generous offering.

And by the way, Congrats on the upcoming 10k - at my rate, I might make that milestone when I'm, oh, 160, 170, somewhere around that.
