Dumb question for a submission

I'm trying to get together 25 cards for a submission for the special. So I pulled out this Clemente card that Topps put out in 98. I've never really gotten into the really modern stuff, so I'm not sure what this card is called - a refractor? My question is this: Do I remove the protective "covering" before i send this in to be graded?
Thanks
Thanks

The label will then say "with coating" or "w/out coating"
I'd leave it on myself unless there is a problem with the coating itself. If it is peeling, tore, or scratched and you leave it on, I think it'll just deter from the grade.
Nothing like I think and almost sure to answer your question, huh?

I think this is true-I have a card that looks perfect-except for a small dog-eared spot on the bottom corner of the coating, and it ended up getting an 8. I've also noticed on the cards I collect is that the coating often makes the cards look worse than they actually are. I've found the colors on the card are much more vivid with the coating off.
I have a few of those somewhere - I never understood the "leave on" group but some say the card is worth more with the protective coating left intact...
Good luck on your sub.
Here's a laugh for ya - my club membership must have lapsed since I can't access SMR anymore - so I will be calling tomorrow to sign up - here's the rub - I haven't submitted my 6 cards from last year yet!!!
If you look up the word "procratinator" in the dictionary...who's face?
