VAM Registry question?

Are existing PCGS slabbed coins required to be officially attributed as a VAM in order to put it in the Registry?

Thanks!

If you are talking about the Morgan Dollar VAM Registry set then yes. If you are referring to the standard Morgan sets then no.

There are a few VAMs that don't need to be attributed as VAMs in order to qualify... coins that were in the "With Varieties" set that have only one variety anyway, like the 1888-O Scarface and Hot Lips, the 1901-P Doubled Die Reverse, and the 1903 Micro-S.

Oh yeah... and the 1890-CC Tail Bar.
    When in doubt, don't.
