Box break fun... but results poor so far

I opened an '84 Fleer baseball and '89 Hoops basketball this weekend. Both have been in my collection since I bought them brand new at wholesaler in downtown LA back in the year of issue. Had high hopes for the '84 Fleer and got NADA! One Strawberry with wax pack stuck to it badly and one Mattingly way off center. Oh ya, one Ryan but OC. Overall, maybe 2 or 3 cards worth sending in. '89 Hoops even worse. I know it's a cheapie to begin with and will likely not submit one card from the Hoops box. Just making space by opening them up and getting rid of 99% of the contents! Started opening an '81 Donruss today, bought from Kruk, and so far NOTHING. However, only 12 packs in. I enjoy '81 Donruss but wow those are some poor quality cards. It's amazing! Not Kruk's fault just the nature of the beast. Got a few cards to consider sending in but overall pretty low quality and obviously with '81 Donruss (and the others I am opening) it's basically only "worth" grading if it has a good shot at a 10. It is making this Monday go better as I have been open a few packs in between meetings, etc.... No scanner at work and frankly not much worth posting yet. Just sharing....

Well, keep at it - you never know what might turn up.

I opened 6 packs of 83 Donruss that I got in the mail today. All I got was a nice centered Sandberg, Blyleven and Phil Neikro. Oh, and a Julio Franco (rookie) - I really like that guy. Vastly under-appreciated. I think I'm going to have to change my name to Lucky Mutt.

I should add that I generally do not send in commons on this newer stuff to PSA so if anybody is collecting the years I am opening I will gladly send you all the commons/semi-stars/etc... if you pay the postage. I will even try to sort out the really bad ones to cut down on postage. Otherwise they are just going to Goodwill. PM if you have any interest.
