New Bear Coin added to list (and cheap)

I just picked up this Liberian coin cheap. Not the one that was on my list (same country and denom, different bear). This one is not a proof and I think the Polar Bear is a proof. Correct me if I am wrong.

I didn't know there were pandas in Africa!

That is a very odd coin!

A panda--in Liberia--with Chinese text to boot! And then, not the American version of Liberty that Liberia usually uses, but the French style, as used on the Indochina coinage!

Is that even an official issue coin??

Although my Krause catalog doesn't list this exact coin, it does appear that the Republic of Liberia did mint coins with the French Indochina Seated Liberty motif. KM#351 shares the same obverse. Either way, wild coin, and on a budget too...
