Hand Cut Non-Sports Cards

Has anyone submitted a hand-cut non-sports card? Any tips on the best way to cut them, or the best way to attain a high PSA grade on them?

  • Ok, I did find some info on the PSA site... and and I cut three and submitted them. While I wouldn't cut up entire Hershey's Trays (Empire Strikes Back trading card) I came across a few that were cut well outside the borders and were perfect for retrimming. I'll let everyone (visualizes tumbleweeds) know how they turn out.

Apparently, PSA likes them cut close to the cards with as little excess as possible. I would have preferred to retain more of the tray, but they do look good. Now, can I get a PSA 9 with a pair of scissors?

  • Wow. Nice work.

I still have a ton of Hostess panels from the 70's but am not quite sure of the best way to cut them without causing creases. What did you use?

Nice job, Paul - are you a surgeon?
