for those of you that do player registry sets

I'm going to submit a few cards to PSA and I was looking for some opinions. I have a few cards in mind but here is my question. Would you rather submit cards included in the registry already or would you rather submit more interesting cards that have to be included later? On the one hand you can quickly increase your registry set or you could add cards later that would add more interest to the set. Which would you do?

I would do both or the niceset condition.

Collecting Tony Perez PSA and Rookie Baseball PSA

  • I first submitted a lot of the cards that wew listed in the master set already. This caught me up on my percentage. So my next goal is to acquire nicer looking cards. Since I will never own every Seau card ever made, I will focus on the nicer looking issues. SP etc.

  • I've been trying to finish off my master set so i've been submitting several of the same card hoping to upgrade to a 9 or 10.
At the same time time i submit one or two different cards not listed on the master set just for fun. One of my favorites has been the Topps stickers from the early 80's. Just don't get antsy to have those cards listed right away on your master set. I got several cards that i've been waiting on for well over 6 months.
I imagine your talking about Reggie cards so i would go with the nicest condition cards first then the rarest. Once you get your 8 it's only a matter of time before a 9 or 10 is listed on Ebay.

At this point, you can do either the ones listed already or the ones that you want to include later. But, if it's coming close to 'awards' time you might want to concentrate on those that are in the registry at that particular point.

I do both. With my Favre set there will be over 5000+ cards in the master set. So lately I have been concentrating on sending in the ones that on the set registry with high weights. But I will also include some newer cards that need to be added. The only problem is that it takes forever to have them added.

Nice Reggie card btw. Do have your set up yet?

  • I always send the nicest cards. They will eventually add them if they aren't already on the master list. I can't afford to send in cards, that I know if I wait long enough, I will get on ebay or in a trade.

  • krunchtyme,

Nice to meet another Emmitt collector on here. Im fairly new to the Emmitt set and im actually 4th all-time on Emmitt's master set and just recently added some scans. Hopefully i can pass MOSH soon and get myself to the third spot.

I have a Dorsett master set as well ( 5th finest ) but i've been concentrating more on my Emmitt set more than anything else

I love collecting all Cowboy graded cards so i threw up something on the "collectors showcase " as well .

BTW, are you Rich or Trenton ? Is that a father/son tandem you've got going ?

Good luck on your sets !!!

  • November's grading results. I honestly thought they would be a little better. I thought for sure the Wmmitt rookie would have been a 10. BUt the point of the whole thing is that, they are cards I liked, not because they are on the registry. But of course, they will be eventually.
