Shep
51mm diameter, 2.21 troy ounces of .900 purity gold for a net of 1.989 troy ounces pure gold
1977 Philippines 5,000 Piso (mintage under 4,000)
<< <i>Biggest and highest denominated Philippine gold coin >>
Biggest, yes. Highest denominated, no. That would be the 10,000 Piso gold coin featuring Cory Aquino commemorating EDSA I. Mintage around 1,000 I believe. I think it was issued in 1992 if I'm not mistaken. I would scan it for you, but it's in the safe.

I'd love to see pictures of it if you ever get the chance.

Jet, what's the grade on that? I have both the IMF UNC & Proof and I'm thinking about putting them in a NGC multi-holder. I'm also thinking about doing it for the 1995 Pope gold series.
It would look something like this:
Do you have a duplicate proof of that I.M.F. If you happened to come accross of one please let me know. Do you think NGC can put them in a multiple holder? and what is the maximum they can put in one holder? I was thinking to put the series as well including silver in one holder but haven't ask NGC if they can do it. By the way that coin graded at MS69 by PCGS.

Are these all the modern Philippine gold issues? I know there is supposed to be a BU version of the massive 1977 5,000 Piso coin but have not seen one personally. Anybody own one that they can post pics of? I also wonder if NGC has enough room to slab the two 1977 5,000 Piso coins (proof and BU) in their multi-holder slab.
