OT - Website advertising fees

I have a small website to show my collection as many collectors do. I also use the site to learn and experiment with web design in my spare time. I received an email from what looks to be a legitimate company that sells event tickets asking what I would charge for them to advertise on my site. Does anyone know if this is a scam? If not, does anyone know what the going rate is for web advertising?

Maybe $99 per year? This would cover my PSA membership every year. image

I have sold ads to a couple of ticketing places, and they have paid me with no problem. The amount they will pay to put an ad on a page depends on how big the ad is, how many links the ad contains, how many daily visitors a page gets, and the page's Google PageRank. (You can see a page's PageRank by downloading the Google Toolbar and going to that page.)

For a small site, $99 a year for a couple of links sounds like a reasonable price to ask.
