Can't quite get the hang of this new macro lens

image

Sigh, I just can't get sharp detail-everything I try seems to be slightly out of focus.

I'm not sure whether or not the camera needs to be in macro mode or not with the macro lens.

I selected one of my nicer toners I really haven't been able to image (without the optional macro lens) due to its small size. Just frustrated-any suggestions?

I had a similar problem at first with tiny coins like those Maundy issues. Try backing away from the coin just a bit (readjust the tripod height) and see if the focus is better. I know, it makes little sense, but it worked for me. Also, when dealing with little coins, a remote trigger is necessary. If you don't have one, use the self-timer feature to eliminate any jiggle from your finger pushing the button manually.

  • If you can find somewhere else to host the image other than the forum which is limited to 50Kb, that is helpful as well..... image
