Coins back from across the tracks (ICG)

Well ... first off ... many thanks to ICG on the quick turnaround time ... order submitted 12/29/05 ... coins received 01/18/06.

1890 UK Queen Victoria Shilling EF 45 ... figured borderline XF/AU and wanted one for type

I counted on the following being AU ... just looking for type at this point
1916 J Germany - Empire 1/2 Mark AU58
1918 D Germany - Empire 1/2 Mark AU58
1915 A Germany - Empire 1 Mark AU53
1915 D Germany - Empire 1 Mark AU53
1934 F Germany - Third Reich 1 RM AU55

The following did better than I had counted on as I was expecting a few body bags due to color/toning
1901-A German States - Prussia KM 525 2 Marks MS62 (200th Anniv of Prussia)
1913-A German States - Prussia KM 532 2 Marks AU58 (100th Anniv defeat of Napoleon)
1911-F German States - Wurttemburg KM 636 3 Marks MS63
1913-E German States - Saxony KM 1275 3 Marks MS64 Battle of Lepzig

1921-W Sweeden KM 799 2 Kronor MS63 Gustaf V

I really don't think too many German State coins have been ATed so I wouldn't have worried too much about BBs for that. Nice submission and good to hear ICG agreed with you on the AU coins.

Pretty quick turnaround also. Was that the 21-day submission? I have one that arrived at ICG on Dec 19th and isn't back yet. Hopefully soon.

  • I had a coupon so I wound up using 15 day on this one ... I sent one off last week that is a 21 day and will see how well it does. If all goes well, I will more than likely crack out a few that I have in PCGS holders and send in to ICG. Been having quite a few problems with "mechanical errors" at PCGS as of late and would rather have my foriegn coins properly attributed.

The only one I really thought might BB was the 1911-F Wurttemburg because it is more of a gunmetal gray which I though might be a result of a old cleaning.
